Background

The Wessels Tournament is a football tournament for players under 12 years that will be organized on Saturday 22nd May and Sunday 23rd May 2010 (Whitsun weekend) at the accommodation of footballclub RKZVC in the Netherlands.
Zieuwent is a small village about 45 km south of Arnhem in the eastern part of the Netherlands, not far from the German border.
In 2010 the tournament will be organized for the eighth time. The participants are nine teams from Dutch and international famous football clubs. Of course also a team of organizer RKZVC will take part in this tournament.

Dave Boomgaars Cup
The participating teams will try to win the Dave Boomgaars Cup at our tournament. Dave Boomgaars was a youth player of RKZVC who died in 1992 at the age of 12 years from an incurable disease. Through this Cup, that was donated by his parents, we will never forget Dave.
